I just moved, and my cell phone gets very poor signal and I’m not sure if different cell phones get better signal.

A different cell phone won’t give you better service. It’s all about the carrier you’re using. Even on different service providers, some places are just not cell-phone friendly. Have you contacted Verizon about this?

The signal reception for my sprint instinct 30 cell phone is horrible. The map shows that I should have good coverage. Yahoo is my email provider which also does not get good reception. Any suggestions to improve my web browser and cell phone signal reception?

What you are looking for is a Sprint Airave. The Airave acts like a mini cell tower in your home. What you do is plug it into a high speed internet connection, and then use it to make unlimited calls on the Airave network. I’m not sure of everything it does, but there’s an article about it here:

Day trading SPY options: How can I do this better? (Long question)?
Question by matthewspeed: Day trading SPY options: How can I do this better? (Long question)?
(Note: I have real money experience with options going back to 2000, first covered calls in my IRA and then long calls in my cash account though no day trading experience with real money. I have the 25K to park in an account to satisfy the pattern day trader rules and another 10K to make the actual contract purchases.)
I have a job that allows me to keep an eye on the real time stock market. Starting in January I started playing with the Virtual Trading engine at OptionXpress, daytrading options on SPY. My strategy is rather modest; I buy 5-10 ITM contracts, either put or call depending on market direction, and sell when I see the trend reverse. I chose 10 contracts because I believe that with an order size that small, if I submit a sell order at the bid it should fill immediately unless the market is moving very fast allowing me to lock in a profit if the trend reverses. I open one position at a time, I never leave my desk with an open position and I am 100% cash at market close every day. I use SPY because being a basket of 500 stocks it is buffered from sudden drastic moves in price giving me time to get out of a position with minimal loss if the price goes the wrong way on me. My immediate goal is $ 100 after commissions per round trip, a target that requires only a $ 0.15 move in option price. I don’t always guess right on direction, 4 out of 5 is typical, and I am netting between $ 400 and $ 500 a day on 6-7 round trips. My $ 5000 initial play money stake has grown to about $ 15,000 since 1/19 when I started doing this seriously. I won’t get rich doing this but over the course of a year that is an extra person’s worth of income for my family. If it lets me do nothing more than pay off my house and fund future college for my 3 kids it is worth it.
Now that I have proven to myself that this seems to be a reasonable strategy I am trying to understand what I can do better and am now in the area of “I don’t know what I don’t know.” I know about Level 2 quotes but if these are something that can help me I am not clear how to use them. I know that there are all sorts of indicators that technical traders use but I don’t know if these scale down to the day trading level. I know about the existence of the Greeks, and while I understand roughly what the numbers and equations mean, I don’t know if these will help me on positions lasting 15 minutes or less.
My main interest in posting this question is to find out if there are tools I can use to help me make better choices about getting in or out of a position or tell me more about what the market is doing. This strategy seems to be working okay and if I can translate this to real money I will consider myself successful. I don’t want to be greedy but I certainly would like to know if I can do what I am already doing more effectively.
I spent time on 888options and optionetics.com but it seems much of the content out there deals with strategies like spreads, butterflies and condors, things that simply don’t apply to what I am doing. I know there are options day traders, even some specializing in SPY, who read these questions, and I’d be appreciative if I even had a list of books or even just some things to go research and learn about that you have found helpful in your experience.
Thanks for reading this far and any help y’all provide.
I definitely understand the problem with fills; in fact, I asked a question about that here the other day. I had noticed that I could put in a sell at a price like 3.10 and a minute later see a bid/ask spread of 3.15/3.20 with my sell order still open. My only thought was “What the ****?!” I was told by another answerer that in reality, on an order that small an ask below the bid would never stay open on something as liquid as SPY.
Regarding filling at the mid, on SPY I could live with this. The options on SPY move enough intraday that even if every buy order filled at the ask and and sold at the bid I’d still make money because I am looking for moves of .15 on options that can move .30 or more in a short time. I’ve gotten good enough at picking the trend direction that I will buy options that are 3 or 4 points ITM. This gets me my .15 or more move with only a small move in the price of SPY.

Option trading services for better trade decision
Stock trading has many facets to learn for all including stock investment professionals, traders or investors in general. One must be aware of the rules and regulations related to stock trading in order to bring more transparency in the way global stock markets run. Many online consultants are offering the excellent option trading services to their clients so that they would be able to learn the inner day trading of various transactions being carried out in the stock markets.
There are some of the best options of trading services that suit to all individuals. These options would assist investors and stock marketing players to understand the features and functions of trading services. Such options are also necessary to remember because success or failure in option trading much depends on the decision taken by the investors. So option trading services would help to take a fast and of course wise step on investments.
The option services are helpful for all whether it is big investor, small investor or just a beginner. These options involve different types of services such as watch lists, trading calculators, investment calculators, reports and other market responses. One can easily subscribe these services for making smart as well as wise trading decisions. Nowadays, it is found that many investors incorrectly speculate the outcome of stock market trading, but in rush of making quick profit sometimes they make wrong decisions.
Sometimes, when market is rising well, every investor feels its easy to learn day trading and becomes a stock analyst, but when market slumps they simply make a notion that markets drop faster than they surge. In such a situation, option services can provide a profitable opportunity, irrelevant to the condition of market. It works like a derivative instrument for all those with little knowledge about stock trading options. Such information would help traders to learn day trading and know when to sell a stock at a specific price and at a specific time. Option trading services involve two basic tools such as calls and puts. When you feel bullish about a certain stock, sector or index, you buy a call because you expect it to go up in value. On the other hand, when you are not optimistic about a particular stock, sector or index you buy a put because you expect its value would decline.
Investors are open to learn about the option trading from several tutorials and online stock trading consultancy. Am I better to short/long sells stocks using options with their strategies or by using CFDs? Please help/advis?
Question by William M: Am I better to short/long sells stocks using options with their strategies or by using CFDs? Please help/advis?
I have been looking into various ways to play the stock market to make big money out of it. I have been looking into two investment vehicles primarily, and they are CFDs (contracts for differences) and options trading. Now, I think personally that trading just options, i.e. puts & calls is wasting assets as most of them expire worthless and it is a common fact that people who trade this way have a 95%+ failure ratio. Thats why I wouldn’t trade this way to make a fortune as my chances are quite slim. I have however, traded CFDs on a practice account and I made 25% return on my first trade. I still think, though, that again this might be wasting assets doing it this way like writing options. The best way to make the big money in the stock market I believe, how the pros do it is by short selling and long selling stocks.
What I’d like to know in your opinion is what investment vehicle out of CFDs or options would I be best to use that is recommended to use to short sell and long sell stocks to make massive money and become a millionaire out of? Which investment vehicle is safer to use for short selling and long selling out of using options or CFDs? Good, reasoanble answers would be much appreciated. Thanks.

Firstly, there are ways to trade options without the waste that you speak of (called “theta”) so don’t let that deter you.
Options are much better than CFDs for a few reasons. Firstly, there are hidden margins built into the CFDs – you generally cross a fairly large interest rate spread. For example, if current rates are 3%, you might only receive 1% on your money, or pay 5% on borrowings. These spreads are much smaller in the implied option prices.
CFDs are also fairly limited – you can only go 100% long or 100% short, whereas option strategies can be incredibly flexible. For example, on your first CFD trade that you made 25% on, you could have made much more using options and also with less risk.
Options require a little more knowledge to use properly, but prices are generally much more efficient (saving you cash!) than the CFD markets.
Happy to continue this over PMs.

Online Forex Brokers with Better Customer Service More Likely to Win Online Forex Trading Accounts
Online Forex Brokers with Better Customer Service More Likely to Win Online Forex Trading Accounts
(PRWEB) December 23, 2009
Online forex brokers are moving into a new era: one where opening a new account on its own is simply not enough. Recent client feedback for Tadawul FX shows that there has been a significant rise in the demand for increased customer service. The feedback is indicative of a growing trend that is emerging in light of the economic crisis. Forex traders are demanding better service and brokers that are not used to – or unable to – provide this are finding themselves losing clients.
Going against the grain, Tadawul FX is a forex broker which has always offered a high level of customer service and is now reaping the rewards of doing so. Indeed, the offices of TDFX were moved from Switzerland to Cyprus to cope with the growing demand by investors for brokers offering such as service.
“We have always maintained the importance of superior customer service,” says Ramzi Chamat, CEO of Tadawul FX, now with its headquarters located in Limassol.
“After our clients open their accounts, we advise them, provide them with market research and analyses, market news, and educational tips, videos, tutorials, and articles.”
“In essence, we try to make our clients more successful online forex traders. TDFX is not about getting rich quick, it’s about a long term business relationship for mutual benefit.”
Having actively pursued customer feedback – moreso since their move to Cyprus – TDFX have been noticing a continued and steady incline in the importance their clients place on good customer service. After the economic crisis occurred however, these figures spiked astronomically and are still rising. It’s a clear indication that traders want more from their brokers.
With relatively few online forex trading brokers offering such comprehensive facilities, the path is now wide open for those offering more to gain more. However, it is not as easy as it sounds, warns Ramzi.
“Comprehensive customer support is something you have to want to offer your clients. It takes time, money, and effort, so is not something to go into lightly. Ultimately, if you are not dedicated to your clients, you will let them down with promises of services you can neither maintain nor provide.”
And the proof is in the pudding. Surrounded by struggling online forex brokers around them, TDFX has never been so strong.
Ramzi is proud.
“Tadawul FX has always provided the very best in customer service – and our success to date shows that doing so was definitely the right move forward.”
Tadawul FX head offices are located at:
Samos Center, 1st floor,
